Jenny Davis: The Art Of Making $40,000 With Ebook Kits

This week we interviewed a Houston based single mother of two, Jenny Davis, who's has been doing quite well with her Ebook Kits business. Jenny has seen her share of troubling times in the past few months. After being laid off her job as an administrative assistant with a major oil company, she successfully managed to launch her own ebook kits business from home.

This is an excerpt from an interview that one of
our reps conducted with her recently ....

Hello Jenny. Thank you for taking the time out of your schedule and allowing us to pick your brain for a little while.

Jenny: Oh you are most welcome. It is my pleasure.

OK let’s get right to it. What made you want to start an internet business?

Jenny: Actually, my luck came due to a cousin of mine who was already doing this. She always tried to convince me that I should follow in her footsteps and start selling ebook kits online. However, I kept putting it off until I got laid off from my job. At that point I knew I had to do something. So I contacted her and she told me about EbookBizBox.com - the rest is history as they say. (chuckles)

So which ebook kits are you marketing and how much are you making if you don't mind telling us?

Jenny: Well, I am currently only focusing on selling the Art & Crafts Ebook Kit. I am quite passionate about arts and crafts and so i naturally thought that would be my best option to begin with. So I basically started by setting up a website using the template you provide for the art kit. In the first month or so business was slow but it started picking up after that due to my consistent efforts. I would say I have netted about $40,000 in about 10 months of doing this.

How do you market your website? I mean how do you get all these sales?

Jenny: Although I use various methods to market my site my main avenue of reaching prospects is through Facebook marketing. The art and crafts arena is a very specific consumer based market and I find Facebook to be a great way to reach them. I also use a lot of offline marketing techniques such as fliers and business cards. They are cheap to print out and work very effectively when distributed in the right places. In my case, I hire students on the cheap to drop-off fliers at flea markets, art galleries, museums, craft stores, and so on.

Sorry to ask you this, but how can I know for sure that you are indeed making that much money. Can you show any proof of this?

Jenny: No problem. That's a valid question. Not many ways to prove it unless you come over and have a look at my paypal account while I am logged in. It would be useless to show you screenshots of my paypal account as these can easily be faked (like so many people do on the internet).

You are absolutely right. We'll take your word for it. So what are your future plans?

Jenny: I am taking it one step at a time and constantly learning new ways to market. However, I do have plans to start marketing other ebook kits in the other niches. Once I have my marketing down to a science for the art and crafts ebook kit, I will apply the same methodolgy for the others. You know - just expand so to speak and see if I can increase my earnings.

Yes that makes sense. What do you like most about your internet lifestyle and can you offer any advice to our readers?

Jenny: That’s easy to answer – I mean just look at this. I have the freedom to stay home AND make more money than I did at my previous job. It can certainly be hard work but the rewards are just plentiful. If I need to take my son to the dentist, I can just do it without having to ask the "boss" for time off. And the average $3000 to $4000 I bring in per month, while doing something I love, is just priceless. My advice to others would be to start part-time at first. Don’t quit your job. There are many internet businesses one could start – so choose wisely and then just take action. It does pay off in the end.

Thank you once again Jenny. Really apprecaite you being so forthcoming.

Jenny: My pleasure. Thanks for the opportunity to ramble about my life :)

How To Use The Power Of Ezine Ads To Sell Ebook Kits

More than 60 percent of internet users frequently read ezines. There are thousands of e-zines dedicated to a wide variety of topics including health, business, lifestyle etc. They can be very effective in driving traffic to your website and increase the sales of your ebook kits. There are many locations online to find e-zine lists in which you can advertise. One of them is Jogena's Ezine Directory which has a good number of listings. One of the major advantages of e-zine advertising is the lifespan of your ads as most of them are saved for future reference and also passed on via email to friends and family.

Spotlight On The Yoga Ebook Kit

The moneymaking potential of marketing to Yoga enthusiasts is limitless. No one knows exactly how big the yoga market is, but with the number of yoga practitioners in the United States reaching the neighborhood of 15 million, many estimates place it in the hundreds of millions of dollars.

All these people need information on how to practice yoga in the comfort of their own homes instead of paying high fees to yoga classes and instructors. That brews a perfect opportunity to sell the Yoga Ebook Kit to these consumers.

Just ask Richard O'Neil who, at last estimates, earns about $3500 per month selling the Yoga Ebook Kit using email ists.

Do I Need A Business Licence For My Online Business?

Asked by Allen Grider

I have been selling your ebook kits online for about 8 months now and doing quite well. So now I am getting concerned about the legal issues of declaring my income and having the proper legal licence to operate this internet business. Can you offer any advice?

Hello Allen,

Generally, you need a "license" when you need special permission -- like a license to practice law or medicine. There's usually no special "license" needed for an internet business. However, if you are operating under a name other than your own -- for example, "The Ebook Kits Company" (instead of just "Allen Grider"), you will have to file a "Doing Business As" (DBA) business certificate with the local county clerk. Here in Texas USA, it only costs about $20 ( one time fee) to get this certificate from the county clerk. I'm sure there are similar programs in every city in the world.

Best wishes, Ashley Kemp.

Print Ads Are A Bargain For Buyers In This Economy

If you're thinking about promoting your ebook kits business through print advertising, you've picked a good time. Most newspapers and magazines are hungry for revenue (due to the economic downturn and the rise of online ad outlets) and they’re anxious to land new advertisers.

According to the Newspaper Association of America, ad revenue at newspapers sank more than 14 percent last year, the biggest decline in 25 years. On the magazine side, ad revenue sank 7.8 percent last year, Publishers Information Bureau reports.

This is a buyer's market, so take advantage.
